Jim Sell, BA, Norfolk, Va., published his memoirs, “Learning to Live: An American Story.” The book chronicles his years growing up in Charleston, W.Va., attending WVU and serving in the Episcopal ministry in West Virginia, Virginia and elsewhere.
Martin C. Coy, BS, Frederick, Md., published his second book “Unburied Treasure” with Xlibris, a subsidiary of Penguin Books and Random House, this year. His first book “Not All So Tall Tales” was published in 2007 also with Xlibris. Before retiring in 2006, he worked in news media and counseling and education, and is a disabled U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Jack Ward Thomas, MS, Florence, Mont., is a retired chief of the U.S. Forest Service who has recently published his journals through the Boone and Crockett Club. The journals detail his life and career in conservation as well as his time hunting and exploring wilderness.
Raymond Schulz, BA, San Mateo, Calif., has worked in the field of cancer, medical imaging, image-guided surgery and radiosurgery for more than 40 years. He currently works as senior manager at Varian Medical Systems in Palo, Alto, Calif.
Robert A. Lockhart, BA, JD ’87, Charleston, W.Va., was selected by his peers for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America,” 2016 Edition. He is an attorney for Martin & Siebert LC.
George Drake, BS, Landenberg, Pa., was appointed founding dean of the College of Education and Human Services and School of Social Work at Millersville University, Millersville, Pa. Previously Drake was associate dean of the College of Education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Mark Wolfe, BS, was recently named the executive director of facilities for Horry County Schools in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He is responsible for nearly 400 employees and 56 physical facilities including, planning, design construction, custodial and maintenance. Horry is the third-largest school district in the state and contains 7 million square feet of building area and more than 2,000 acres of land.
David Kennedy, BSBA, Charlottesville, Va., was promoted to vice president of Sales Northeast–Wholesale Division for Heritage Home Group. … Sharon Long, BS, Greensburg, Pa., joined Microsoft as a senior project manager in the Dynamics Global Domain with a focus on implementation of Dynamics AX ERP. Her middle son, Steve, is now a graduate student in chemical engineering at WVU.

Mark Healey, BS, Chattanooga, Tenn., is currently the Fire and Natural Resources programs director (staff officer) on the Cherokee National Forest in east Tennessee. Healey and his husband, Brent Tenney, have lived in Chattanooga for five years where Healey enjoys whitewater kayaking and hang gliding.

Christopher R. Bearce, BS, Houston, Texas, is the vice president of operations–Americas at Interica Inc., which develops geophysical software for the oil and gas upstream industry. He has been married for 31 years to Terry King Bearce, and his son, Benjamin, BS ’11, received a master’s from Boston University in 2013. … Jeff James, BS, MS ’90, became the vice president of marketing at Nelson Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers and lives in Nashville, Tenn., with his two daughters. … David Owen, BS, retired from the U.S. Marine Corps on July 10 as a colonel. He served 26 years and his last role was as department head of the Naval Aviation Training Systems Program Office, part of the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. … David Thorne, BS, MS ’04, Buckhannon, W.Va., has recently been promoted to state coldwater fisheries biologist and state aquatic habitat restoration biologist within the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Fish Management Program.
Anne Monterosso, MA, Mooresville, N.C., received her EdD with a concentration in educational leadership and special education from Marshall University in December 2014. She also earned an educational specialist’s degree in educational leadership from Marshall in 2013 and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Marshall in 2000. She began working as a special education monitoring consultant with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in October 2014.

Cari Gerrits, BS, Atlanta, Ga., a certified professional in supply management, is the new business development manager at PES Structural Engineers Inc. She works with the firm’s CEO and COO to manage business development and marketing efforts. … Jason Nulton, BA, has retired from active duty in the U.S. Air Force, having served 20 years in uniform. During that time, he served on nine assignments and was deployed to four continents, traveling throughout Europe, Africa, the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan. Jason and his family relocated to Parkersburg, W.Va., this summer.
Glenn Siniscalchi, BA, Wickliffe, Ohio, earned a PhD in systematic theology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and currently serves as assistant professor of theology at Notre Dame College, South Euclid, Ohio.
Barbara Laugh, MA, was recently named the 2015 Ritchie County Teacher of the Year where she has taught preschool for 17 years. She lives in Harrisville, W.Va., with her husband, Allen, and children, Noah and Hannah.
Marietta F. Marrelli Wright, MS, PhD ’13, received the 2015 Lucas-Hathaway Teaching Excellence Award for a faculty member at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pa. She was also promoted to associate professor.

They were both members of the first leader classes in the summer of 2006. … Kristin Myers, BS, PhD ’12, York, Pa., returned to her hometown where she is a full-time audiologist in a fast-paced ear, nose and throat physician’s office. She works alongside fellow audiologist and ’94 graduate Alisa Kauffman.
