Summer 2018

Argentina Class Notes Joe Scott, BS ’83, and Chris Scott, BS ’83, of Stafford, Va., display their gold-and-blue loyalty in Ushuaia, Argentina, in March 2018. The couple has traveled to seven continents and 65 countries.

1967

William M. “Bill” Auberle, BS, MS, Belmont, W.Va., was awarded the Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Northern Arizona University at its 2018 commencement ceremonies. He serves as professor emeritus of civil and environmental engineering and as principal at EN3 Professionals LLC in Flagstaff, Ariz.

1970

John “Doc” Richmond, BS, MD ’74, Dalton, Ga., celebrated his 70th birthday this year. Dr. Richmond is semi-retired, working part-time as a nephrologist and internist. He was student body president in 1969-70.

1977

Allen Yearick, BA, Sarasota, Fla., received the 2018 American College of Health Care Administrators Chapter of the Year Award. He is the president of the Florida Chapter.

1992

Sheryl Rucker, JD, Erie, Pa., was promoted to senior vice president of Erie Insurance’s Law Division. She will have oversight for compliance, special investigations, agency operations and marketing, claims legal, insurance operations, and legal support.

1993

Kimberly J. Kisner, BA, Pittsburgh, Pa., joined Leech Tishman Fuscaldo & Lampl, LLC, in the firm’s Employment, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Litigation and Real Estate Practice Groups. She will focus her practice primarily on assisting businesses  with employment and human resources matters, contracts and litigation.

1996

Cheryl (Eisenhard) Shinton, BS, Lancaster, Pa., was named managing director of Stoner Bunting, a marketing and advertising agency for home and building products. 

1998

Jennifer Leonard, BS, Baltimore, Md., a project manager and senior landscape architect for Dewberry in the Frederick, Md. office, was promoted to associate. 

1999

Marcy E. Hamilton, JD, Pittsburgh, Pa., was named partner to Meyer, Unkovic & Scott and joins the firm’s real estate and lending practice. 

2002

Kirsten Kasko, BS, Columbia, S.C., has launched StrokeFlashCards.com to aid in the recovery of stroke survivors. She suffered a stroke in 2009 and had five brain surgeries before going back to work in 2011. 

John Walko, BA, Abington, Pa., was named to the 2018 Pennsylvania Rising Stars list.  He is a member of the law firm Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin. 

2003

Christopher Hinchee, BA, Columbia, S.C., was admitted as partner to McGregor and Company LLP, a regional public accounting firm in South Carolina. He focuses on construction and real estate development, as well as individual and business taxation.

2005

Nick Goodman, BS, MPA ’06, Washington, D.C., was promoted to partner at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP. 

2006

David Plazek, PhD, Johnson, Vt., was promoted to full professor of political science at Northern Vermont University. 

Kristen Sobota, PharmD, Columbus, Ohio, was named an Under 40 recipient by the Ohio Pharmacists Association for her achievements in pharmacy at its 140th annual conference. She is associate professor of pharmacy practice at Ohio  Northern University. 

2010

Adam Martelli, BS, Houston, Texas, is manager of inside sales with the Houston Astros. With the Astros winning the 2017  World Series, Martelli received a World Series ring. 

2011

Mel Moraes, BS, MS ’14, Pittsburgh, Pa., was promoted to manager of digital marketing at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Julia Trampert (PICTURED), BS ’07, and Erdal Kucuker, of West Seneca, N.Y., were married May 27, 2017, in Orchard Park, N.Y. Trampert works in education in the Buffalo area.
